Nasiona - The Seeds

In a hut on the edge of a village surrounded by the Altai Mountains there lives a family totally rejected by the rest of the community: the mother is an alcoholic, one of the daughters is epileptic, they live in penury and the father is hardly able to make ends meet. An enormous tragedy took place there in the past and now everyone, the parents and their children, are paying for the sins of the past.

Wojciech Kasperski (1981, Kartuzy) is a film directing student at the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lódz. After making several short films, he has picked up numerous awards for The Seeds, including the Jury Prize at the Silverdocs Festival. The film is part of the program Poland – Russia. A New Look, a project comprising films made by Polish directors set in Russia and by Russian directors in Poland.
