Set against a backdrop of war, Flying Fish comprises three parallel stories: Wasana, a young woman from a Sri Lankan village is in love with a soldier who abandons her after getting her pregnant; a 37- year-old widow begins a secret affair with a younger man; Tamil, a young girl is threatened by the terrorist organization The Tamil Tigers. “This is a representation of a reality I have experienced and supports the identity, dignity and freedom of each human being.” (Sanjeewa Pushpakumara)
