VIOLETA SE FUE A LOS CIELOS / VIOLETA PARRA WENT TO HEAVEN

Before Bob Dylan, in the southern hemisphere there was Violeta Parra, the mother of Latin American folk music. Based on the biography written by her son, Ángel Parra, the film is a portrait of an icon and one of South America’s most important artists: a musician, writer, sculptor and poet in one. Director Andrés Wood describes the woman and the passionate and contradictory artist, and her tenacious creativity as she also battled her inner demons.
