Pesaro, June 27. The winners of the 50+1 PESARO FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS are announced.
Composed, for the first time of university and film school students, the 17-member jury, following intense deliberations, has awarded Best Film of the competition Pesaro Nuovo Cinema - Premio Lino Micciché section to:
BEST FILM OF THE PESARO NUOVO CINEMA-LINO MICCICHÉ COMPETITION: A Young Poet by Daniel Manivel

Micah Macgee’s Petting Zoo wins the AUDIENCE AWARD
A YOUNG POET by Daniel Manivel (France, 2014, 71’)
The jury’s was motivated to award it the Best Film prize “for its expressive elegance, search for a simplicity of forms and a precise auteur register that looks knowingly to cinema of the past to create an original visual and narrative language that contains the power of poetry and art, a stimulating juxtaposition between settings and characters and an incisive stylization of the real.”
The jury also gives a Special Mention to the entire cast of
THE MOTHER OF THE LAMB (Chile, 2014, 80’) by Enrique Farías and Rosario Espinosa “for its minimalism and intensity, admirable and constant search for truth as well as emotional force.”
And a Special Mention for the linguistic experimentation of
TERRA (Italy, 2015, 64’)
by Marco De Angelis and Antonio Di Trapani, “for its innovative nature, complex symbolic mapping and a visual narrative that pulls viewers into and beyond its images.”

AUDIENCE AWARD
The Pesaro Film Festival’s Cinema in Piazza section offers a selection from the festival’s main sections of films best suited for less specialized but equally curious audiences. The “piazza” viewers of the 2015 edition voted at the end of each screening and the winner of this year’s Audience Award is:
PETTING ZOO (Germany/US/Greece, 2015, 92’) by Micah Magee
The film (Lino Miccichè Award Competition section) garnered a score of 3.19 (out of 4), to barely beat out Sebastian Schipper’s equally admired Victoria (Because the Night special program), which came in at 3.15.
