David is a young man with a mild mental disability. His condition and the growing exhaustion he sees in his parents and brother weigh heavily upon him. When family life becomes unbearable, David runs away to Prague, with very little money in his pocket. Away from his protective domestic environment for the first time, in the big city David feels an even more profound loneliness and will have to come to terms with his thoughts and emotions, to a point of no return.

Jan Teˇšitel (1982) studied at FAMU, the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. For his feature debut David, he drew from autobiography (his brother’s running away) to create a universal story of a character who suffers because he cannot live a normal life. The young lead actor, Patrik Holubá , is a member of a theatre company that organizes activities for people with mental disabilities. The film made its world premiere at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
